This is an enlargement of part of the previous photo.  It shows a detail of the cab, for those who may be interested in modeling this loco as it appeared in 1969.

It looks like a three-chime horn up there, along with what looks like a mars light.   

Just in front of the winterization hatch is a white flag signaling that this train was an "extra" - not on the scheduled timetable. (Thanks goes out to Floyd Brown for pointing this out.)
