Did you know...

In 1953, the Ahnapee & Western carried 120 passengers for 8160 passenger-miles. That just happens to equal 68 miles per passenger, or the exact distance of an out-and-back trip between Sturgeon Bay and Casco Junction.

In the 1960s., the Green Bay Route built five transfer cabooses were built from the underframes of old wood cabooses.

Originally numbered #601 through #605, they were renumbered into the 100- series during the winter of 1978-1979.  Unlike the road cabooses which had black end steps, the transfer caboose steps were painted yellow like the rest of the car body.
