It must have been a special day in Blair, because a large crowd was at the
Green Bay & Western's Blair, Wis. depot, dressed in their Sunday best
clothes!
The date printed on the front of the card is August
2, 1908. The back of this postcard postmarked 5:00 p.m.
Thursday, November 26, 1908 mentions the "Blair Club"
going to a football game in Chicago. (The University of Chicago
defeated the Wisconsin Badgers
18-12 on November 21 of that year -- that may very well have been the game.)
Beyond the depot is the W.W. Cargill grain elevator. Cargill had
developed a system of grain elevators in the upper Midwest, with several along
the GB&W main line -- see this 1910 photo
of Luxemburg for another of Cargill's properties on the railroad.
Who are the group of people standing off of the platform on the tracks?
