GBW #318 heads up a ballast train between Wisconsin Rapids and Plover.
Alco RS-27 #318 hauls what appears to be a string of GB&W's 24' long,
outside ribbed, one-bay
ballast hoppers from the 150-174 car number series. Ballast cars showed up in
the Plover area quite a bit as ballast loading was done at "Wimme's Pit"
located just east of Arnott (5 miles east of Plover on the main line)
and local trains from Plover usually serviced it.
If you look in front of the locomotive you can see the new ballast
placed between the rails.
Thanks goes out to Scott Janz
