Eastbound train No. 2 has arrived at Wisconsin Rapids.
It's a beautiful Wisconsin summer day, and the station agent is sitting outside the depot, checking the train's consist against his car list.
The wood in the gondolas appears to be pulp wood destined for Green Bay Packaging
on Quincy Street in Green Bay.
There was an RS-20 on the lead of the train this day -- which was a rare sight. RS-20s were seen about once a month on the trains, consistent with a schedule of rotating the locomotive back to Norwood Yard in Green Bay for routine maintenance.
Andrew Nelson took this photo in August 1984, while trying out a new 80-210 mm zoom
lens on his camera.
