The U.S. Plywood Weldrok Division plant in East Brunswick, New Jersey burned to the ground in June 1969 - a total loss of the structure.  Among the freight cars damaged in the fire was GBW #2414, a nobr>double-door boxcar built in 1967.

The GBW boxcars would occasionally show up at the East Brunswick plant to be loaded with asbestos insulation for a return trip to Algoma, Wisconsin.  The consignee was the Algoma Plywood Company plant, which used the insulation to make fireproof doors.  (The irony of that is not lost on me.)

The boxcar is lettered with the instructions "WHEN EMPTY RETURN TO P.C.R.R. GAYLORD MICH."  The U.S. Plywood Co. had a particle board plant Gaylord.
